Turn Bowl E15 Mark Braun File 2

The Turn Fruit Bowl designed by Mark Braun for e15. The bowl is turned from solid wood on a lathe, producing a continuous circular form with a thickened rim and a gently concave interior. The process leaves subtle tool marks that register the rotation of the material during shaping. The wall thickness is consistent, giving the piece structural stability while keeping the profile light.

The bowl functions as a tabletop vessel for fruit or small objects. Its geometry centers contents within the curved interior, while the flat base provides a stable footing on horizontal surfaces.

Two available.

Mark Braun is a Berlin-based designer whose work moves fluidly between industrial production and studio editions, balancing clarity of form with a deep respect for material. Since founding his studio in 2006, he has collaborated with international brands including Thonet, Nomos Glashütte, Lobmeyr, and Northern, creating objects that range from furniture to glassware to timepieces—all united by an insistence on both usability and elegance.

His most celebrated contribution to table culture is the Mono V flatware collection, designed for the German manufacturer Mono. With its elongated proportions, sculptural handles, and refined weight, the series extends Braun’s interest in minimalism into the rituals of dining. Mono V exemplifies his belief that everyday tools can embody both precision and pleasure, making the simple act of holding a fork or knife an aesthetic experience.

Braun’s work has been recognized with numerous international awards, including the IF Award, the Red Dot Design Award, and the German Design Award. His objects have also been presented in galleries from S. Bensimon in Paris to Libby Sellers in London, underlining his ability to operate at the intersection of industry and art. Whether designing cutlery, glassware, or furniture, Braun’s work reflects a consistent ethos: objects should be both functional and resonant, engaging not only the hand but the eye and mind. The Mono V collection captures this philosophy in its purest form—flatware designed not for trend, but for lasting use and quiet distinction.
