Kvadrat Gentle 2 Fabric

Gentle 2 is a luxu­ri­ous knitted uphol­stery textile from Kvadrat Febrik, known for its plush surface, elegant shine, and excep­tional stretch. Updated with a refined color palette, it combines visual rich­ness with tactile comfort.

Constructed by knit­ting loops through a base layer and shear­ing the surface, Gentle 2 reveals a soft, stri­ated pile enhanced by the natural irreg­u­lar­ity of wool yarns. This gives it a subtly varied texture and a lumi­nous finish that elevates its velvety appeal.

Unlike tradi­tional woven velvets, Gentle 2 is lami­nated onto 2mm polyurethane foam with a poly­ester scrim backing. This layered construc­tion adds volume and a uniquely cush­ioned feel, making the textile both opulent and distinctive.

Its updated palette ranges from sooth­ing pastels to vibrant, modern hues — laven­der, cream, tanger­ine, and elec­tric blue — chosen to enhance the textile’s inviting softness.

Thanks to its knitted struc­ture, Gentle 2 offers excel­lent stretch­a­bil­ity, allow­ing it to contour effort­lessly over curves and complex forms. This makes it espe­cially well-suited for organic shapes, while its comfort and dura­bil­ity lend it to both resi­den­tial and commercial interiors.
