More details here…

Part of the renowned Divina family, Divina MD is a richly expressive wool upholstery textile designed by Finn Sködt. With a smooth, felt-like surface and full-bodied character, it is crafted through a traditional milling process: plain-woven wool is mechanically shrunk under heat, creating a dense, directionless texture that effortlessly highlights the contours of organic furniture forms.

Soft, durable, and highly tactile, Divina MD is ideal for both private interiors and contract settings. Its subtly blended yarns produce refined unicolored shades that, upon closer inspection, reveal complex color nuances — evoking the layered depth of classical oil paintings. The palette is deeply saturated yet sophisticated, designed to shift with light and perspective, imbuing furniture with a quiet vibrancy.

Each colorway is carefully composed to project tonal richness without overpowering the space, making Divina MD a versatile companion to Divina and Divina Mélange. Together, they form a coherent trio, balancing clarity of color with texture and tactility.

Elevated in both appearance and craftsmanship, Divina MD transforms surfaces into vivid expressions of depth, warmth, and artistic restraint.

Finn Sködt

Denmark

Finn Sködt was a Danish graphic artist and textile designer, known for his mastery of color composition and his exceptional ability to blend hues with precision. After studying at the Graphic Institute of Denmark in Copenhagen and the Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts, Sködt spent his career working from his home and workshop on the scenic Helgenæs peninsula in Denmark.

Sködt's design practice spanned several disciplines, including graphic design, painting, sculpture, and textile design. He created numerous upholstery and curtain textiles for Kvadrat from the early 1980s onward, becoming renowned for his exploration of color. His work often started with primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—before branching out into other hues and nuanced tones. Sködt’s style was deeply influenced by his background in graphic arts, with a preference for clear, vibrant colors and clean, aesthetic designs. His textiles, much like his graphic art, were known for their purity and simplicity, often featuring his beloved color: Ultramarine blue.

Sködt’s innovative use of color was not just about visual appeal but also about exploring the fluidity and movement of color itself. As he once stated: “Colors are fluid and the color blue, especially, is always going somewhere.”
