More details here…

Divina 3 is a vivid, directionless wool textile created by graphic designer and artist Finn Sködt, known for his extraordinary ability to blend and balance colors. Celebrating the purest essence of color, Divina 3 is uniquely suited to showcase a broad and expressive palette — from refined neutrals to bold primaries.

The textile is produced using a distinctive cloth weaving” technique: yarn is woven into a coarse linen casing, then transformed under intense heat and pressure. This process smooths the surface and shrinks the fabric by up to 30%, yielding a dense, felt-like finish with no visible weave — ideal for expressing saturated color.

Sködt’s inspiration stems from medieval illuminated manuscripts, where radiant pigments brought the page to life. Similarly, Divina 3 allows color to shine with unmatched clarity and depth. Especially striking are the reds and oranges, which retain their brilliance over time.

With a spectrum ranging from soft cashmere, olive, and greys to electric blue, green, and yellow, Divina is both timeless and dramatic. Its smooth, full-bodied finish makes it perfect for bold statement pieces or subtle, tone-on-tone interior compositions.

True to its name — Divina, meaning divine” — this textile turns furniture into a canvas, illuminating spaces with its richly expressive color story.

Finn Sködt

Denmark

Finn Sködt was a Danish graphic artist and textile designer, known for his mastery of color composition and his exceptional ability to blend hues with precision. After studying at the Graphic Institute of Denmark in Copenhagen and the Aarhus Academy of Fine Arts, Sködt spent his career working from his home and workshop on the scenic Helgenæs peninsula in Denmark.

Sködt's design practice spanned several disciplines, including graphic design, painting, sculpture, and textile design. He created numerous upholstery and curtain textiles for Kvadrat from the early 1980s onward, becoming renowned for his exploration of color. His work often started with primary colors—red, yellow, and blue—before branching out into other hues and nuanced tones. Sködt’s style was deeply influenced by his background in graphic arts, with a preference for clear, vibrant colors and clean, aesthetic designs. His textiles, much like his graphic art, were known for their purity and simplicity, often featuring his beloved color: Ultramarine blue.

Sködt’s innovative use of color was not just about visual appeal but also about exploring the fluidity and movement of color itself. As he once stated: “Colors are fluid and the color blue, especially, is always going somewhere.”
