More details here…

The Langley Stool is an exercise in the economy of means. Designed by David Chipperfield for e15 furniture, it serves as a companion piece to the Fayland table, though it possesses enough character to exist quite happily on its own. The stool is defined by its structural honesty; there is a certain rural pragmatism in the way the solid wood is handled, yet the final form remains thoroughly composed. Its signature horizontal bar, while technically a stabilizing element, functions visually as a grounding wire, anchoring the piece in space.

Carved from 1.2‑inch thick solid European walnut or oak, the Langley stands as a study in tactile permanence. It is a piece that invites use, whether as an occasional seat or a low-slung side table, and its refined geometry allows it to slip seamlessly into the various topographies of a modern interior. Whether finished in a warm, natural oil or a sharp jet-black lacquer, the stool remains a testament to Chipperfield’s ability to find the monumental within the miniature.
