More details here…

The Fawley Bench is a study in the beauty of the backbone. Designed by David Chipperfield for e15 furniture, it dispenses with the usual frippery of seating to reveal a silhouette that is almost calligraphic in its clarity. Its defining feature — a sturdy horizontal bar — acts as a visual anchor, grounding the piece with a sense of rural pragmatism that has been polished for the modern gallery. It is a design that doesn’t just sit in a space; it organizes it.

Constructed from solid European walnut or oak, the Fawley celebrates the heavy, tactile reality of timber. Whether finished in a luminous oil or a deep, nocturnal black, the bench serves as a versatile companion to the Fayland table or stands quite happily on its own as a low-slung plinth for art, books, or the occasional guest. It is furniture reduced to its most potent form: a steady, reliable line in a world of clutter.
