More details here…

Savanna is an upholstery textile from Kvadrat that combine different types of yarns and materials to offer distinctive depth and richness. Created by acclaimed Danish designers, Aggebo & Henriksen. The designers blended yarns with contrasting characters to give Savanna an elegant and sophisticated textile that fuses shiny yarns, matt yarns, and bouclé yarns. As a result, Savanna features a rich, irregular surface, which reveals an eye-catching play of details when seen from close up.

Aggebo & Henriksen

Denmark

Mathilde Aggebo and Julie Henriksen are among Denmark’s most innovative and conceptually driven textile designers, known for their distinctive blend of systematic design processes and bold visual storytelling. Collaborating since 1991, the duo has earned widespread recognition for their ability to transform everyday elements into extraordinary design expressions.

Educated at Denmark’s School of Design, Aggebo & Henriksen approach their work with a methodical yet experimental sensibility, often magnifying fine details to striking effect. Their work spans a variety of disciplines—from stage curtains and interior textiles to large-scale installations—and is guided by a shared belief that good design challenges perception and invites new ways of seeing.

One of their most notable projects is the stage curtain for the Queen’s Hall in the Royal Danish Library’s ‘Black Diamond’ extension. Here, fragments of Hans Christian Andersen’s handwritten manuscripts—discovered during research—were digitally printed on Kvadrat’s Divina fabric, merging historical context with contemporary design.

Awarded multiple grants from the Danish State Art Foundation and featured in prominent exhibitions such as the Charlottenborg Spring and Autumn Exhibitions, Aggebo & Henriksen continue to redefine the boundaries of textile design through work that is both thought-provoking and materially rich.
