More details here…

The Shiraz sofa series from e15 represents a sophisticated dialogue between disparate worlds, drawing its primary breath from the traditional seating islands” of Persia while maintaining the rigorous structural language of Western modernism. At the heart of this modular system lies a meticulously considered three-part anatomy: a solid Shiraz base that serves as the architectural foundation; the Elam seat, an expansive, down-filled cushion designed for a liberated sense of repose; and a versatile array of arm and backrests that allow the ensemble to be tailored to the specific topography of a room.

The craftsmanship is as deliberate as the concept, with each module built upon a resilient wooden frame and layered with precision-applied foams. Whether swathed in Kvadrat textiles or high-quality leathers, the Shiraz functions less like a mere piece of furniture and more like adaptable, enduring architecture for the domestic sphere. Designed by Farah Ebrahimi, the series achieves a rare equilibrium — merging cultural nuance with a contemporary clarity that allows for nearly infinite configurations, ensuring it remains as relevant in a minimalist gallery as it does in a lived-in salon.

Farah Ebrahimi

Farah Ebrahimi is the Art Director of e15 and a leading voice at Philipp Mainzer Office for Architecture and Design. Born in Iran and educated at Otis/Parsons School of Art and Design in Los Angeles, she has worked across fashion, teaching, and interior design, holding senior positions at brands such as BCBG Max Azria and DKNY before moving to Frankfurt in 2001.There, she helped transform Bergman—Germany’s first concept store—into an influential hybrid of retail and exhibition. At e15, she has since guided the company’s collections with a vision that bridges cultural nuance and modern clarity. Her designs, including the award-winning Shiraz and Kerman sofas, reflect her belief in furniture as adaptable, enduring architecture for daily life.

Ebrahimi has also played an essential role in shaping e15’s most recognizable icon, the Backenzahn stool. Carved from solid oak or walnut with four distinctively milled legs, the piece has become a design classic—sculptural yet practical, equally at home as a seat or side table. Its enduring presence in contemporary interiors exemplifies the balance of precision and warmth that defines e15. In 2017, Ebrahimi and Philipp Mainzer received the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany and Interior Innovation – Gold, affirming their influence on European design. An honorary member of the Deutscher Designer Club (DDC), she continues to serve on its advisory board.

Her work with e15 embodies a conviction that furniture should be both uncompromisingly modern and deeply humane: objects designed not only to be admired but to be lived with for generations.
