Kvadrat Planum Fabric

Planum is a knitted uphol­stery textile with a smooth, soft surface and a refined, woven-like expres­sion. Designed in collab­o­ra­tion with Dutch design studio Raw Color, it features an unex­pected palette of 21 distinc­tive hues devel­oped through an inten­sive, hands-on process.

To create the color scale, Raw Color explored over 350 hand-painted samples, drawing inspi­ra­tion from three-dimen­sional objects and subtle mate­r­ial nuances. The result is a curated palette defined by curios­ity and orig­i­nal­ity, offer­ing shades that feel uncom­mon yet highly versatile.

Planum is crafted using a simple double-knit construc­tion with a predom­i­nantly woolen surface. It is char­ac­ter­ized by a subtle matte luster and a dry, natural handle, combin­ing soft­ness with understated sophistication.

As with all Kvadrat Febrik knitted textiles, Planum offers excel­lent multi­di­rec­tional stretch, making it ideal for uphol­ster­ing organic forms with minimal seams. Its clean, tactile quality pairs beau­ti­fully with the more volu­mi­nous, three-dimen­sional textiles in the Kvadrat Febrik collection.

Suit­able for both resi­den­tial and contract settings, Planum provides design­ers with a flex­i­ble, tactile foun­da­tion for expressive interiors.
