More details here…

Coda 2 is a refreshed color update of the original Coda upholstery textile, designed by Norway Says. Known for its rich tactility and bold texture, Coda has a distinctive three-dimensional character that responds dynamically to furniture forms.

From a distance, Coda 2 appears monochrome. But upon closer inspection, it reveals a surprising second color, thanks to its unique two-layer weave. Each layer is crafted in a different hue, giving the textile a rhythmic surface that shifts with folds and angles, much like the skin of a three-dimensional object,” as its designers describe.

Made from pure wool, Coda 2 balances structure and softness. Its bold texture and dual-tone construction bring a graphic yet refined expression to any interior.

The updated palette of 18 colorways, composed by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, introduces softer, more versatile tones than the original. It includes vibrant highlights like deep red and mustard yellow, as well as muted, natural shades such as slate grey and cream. Some pair high-contrast hues — like pale blue with red — while others are more subtle and tonal.

Originally formed in 2002, Norway Says helped define a new generation of internationally minded Norwegian designers. The collective, which included Anderssen, Engesvik, and Voll, gained acclaim for their forward-thinking furniture and textile design before evolving into new studios.

Coda 2 is ideal for both residential and contract use, offering an elegant blend of durability, texture, and color sophistication.

Norway Says & Per Bjørnsen

Norway

Norway Says was a pioneering multidisciplinary design group founded in Oslo in 2002 by designers Espen Voll, Andreas Engesvik, and Torbjörn Anderssen. The studio quickly became known for its innovative, international approach to design, producing a diverse range of work including furniture, textiles, electronics, lighting, and porcelain.

At the forefront of a new wave of young Norwegian designers, Norway Says embraced a collaborative and experimental spirit that set them apart. Their work fused traditional Scandinavian design sensibilities with contemporary innovation, earning them recognition on the global stage.

In 2009, the studio split into two independent design practices—Anderssen & Voll and Andreas Engesvik—both of which have continued to garner acclaim, working with prestigious international clients. Throughout their careers, they have received numerous accolades, including the Honors Award for Design Excellence from the Norwegian Design Council.

Today, their legacy lives on in the continued success of their individual ventures, with each designer contributing to a broader dialogue in modern design.
