More details here…

Designed by Margrethe Odgaard, Atlas is a woollen upholstery textile defined by its richly detailed mélange expression and bold color experimentation. Created as a fresh take on traditional mélanges, Atlas uses a unique construction where two double-colored yarns — one in the warp, one in the weft — interact to create a pattern-like surface rather than a blended fiber mix.

This approach results in extraordinary color depth and complexity, with precise, vibrant nuances that shift subtly with light and perspective. The textile’s name, Atlas, nods to the layered colors found in topographic maps — each shade revealing new terrain.

Odgaard carefully selected 37 colorways from more than 1,200 possibilities, combining unconventional hues to evoke both harmony and striking contrasts. The palette spans from soft sorbets to deep, near-black tones infused with hints of color, making Atlas an ideal companion for other mélanges and a versatile choice for bold or refined interiors.

Beyond aesthetics, Atlas also performs beautifully in use. Its soft, flexible structure allows it to conform effortlessly to furniture curves, simplifying upholstery and enhancing comfort.

Suitable for both commercial and residential spaces, Atlas offers designers a dynamic tool for creating tactile, colorful environments with character and depth.

Margrethe Odgaard

Denmark

Margrethe Odgaard is a Danish textile and color designer whose work centers on the emotional and sensory power of color. Her practice is rooted in the belief that thoughtfully designed objects—those that engage both body and mind—can create meaningful, lasting connections with users.

A graduate of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design, Odgaard also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. Before founding her own studio, she worked with the French fashion house ÉPICE and later as a printing assistant at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia—experiences that shaped her approach to material, surface, and color.

Today, Odgaard balances commercial collaborations with an independent artistic practice focused on self-initiated research. Her work explores how color interacts with form, light, and space—often resulting in subtle yet striking patterns that feel deeply intuitive. Rather than treat color as decoration, she approaches it as a material in its own right, using it to enhance emotional resonance and sensory perception.

Odgaard’s nuanced palettes and minimalist compositions continue to influence contemporary textile and product design, redefining how we experience color in everyday life.
