The Pebble Vase was among Kate Hume’s earliest glass designs, introducing the rounded forms that would become a recurring element in her work. The shape is compact and slightly asymmetrical, with softened edges that catch and diffuse light across the surface.
Each vase is mouth-blown and finished by hand, producing subtle variations in proportion and color from one piece to the next. The form rests low and stable, with a narrow opening suited to a small arrangement or a single stem.
This example is offered in medium scale in aubergine and gold, two of the deeper tones used throughout Hume’s glasswork.
