More details here…

Suunta is a knitted upholstery textile by Studio Truly Truly, inspired by the vibrant rows of blooms seen in Dutch flower fields. Its name — Finnish for direction” — reflects both the linear rhythm of the design and its subtle play with movement and perception.

The textile features a ribbed jacquard construction combining wool and recycled polyester yarns in varying hues. This creates intricate chevrons across the surface and adds depth through the interplay of color and texture. As Suunta stretches seamlessly over furniture, its ribs reveal shifting tones that appear to hover along edges, evoking a soft, luminous effect.

From a distance, the textile’s colorful stripes resemble the ordered rows of flowers viewed from above. Up close, layers of contrasting yarns emerge, enhancing its rich, dimensional surface.

The palette, developed by Studio Truly Truly, explores nature’s dynamic contrasts — balancing bright floral hues with leafy neutrals and earthy tones. The design reflects the studio’s fascination with how color behaves in nature, where context can heighten or soften a shade’s intensity.

Despite its soft hand, Suunta offers high durability. The textile achieves an excellent Martindale rating through a precise production method in which each row is knitted with a single needle, placing the strongest yarns on the exterior for added performance.

Like all Kvadrat Febrik knitted textiles, Suunta provides excellent stretch and is ideal for upholstering organic shapes, combining tactile comfort with bold, directional design.
