Anne Birgitte Hansen
Denmark
Anne Birgitte Hansen is a Danish textile designer whose work is deeply rooted in memory, place, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life. Raised on the island of Bornholm, she began weaving at a young age—drawn instinctively to the textures and patterns that would shape her future career.
Educated at the School of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Copenhagen, Hansen chose to focus on industrial textile design early on, seeking to merge creative expression with practical application. This pragmatic approach enabled her to reach broader audiences while remaining true to her artistic instincts.
Her body of work spans a wide visual and tactile range—from refined upholstery with minimalist linear structures to curtains adorned with expressive, printed motifs. Whether woven or printed, her textiles are united by a subtle, poetic sensibility that evokes the natural world, personal memory, and a distinctly Scandinavian quietude.
Anne Birgitte Hansen’s designs are not only aesthetically compelling but also thoughtfully constructed for both commercial and residential interiors, offering timeless expressions of material, craft, and form.
