Since joining Sahco in 2022, Bengt Thorne­fors has led the legacy fabric house into a bold new era, balanc­ing nearly two centuries of heritage with a vision­ary, contem­po­rary voice. With a pedi­gree rooted in fashion — having held senior design roles at Acne Studios and Yves Saint Laurent under Hedi Slimane — he approaches Sahco as a true textile maison: emotion­ally driven, concep­tu­ally refined, and visu­ally adven­tur­ous. His debut collec­tion for Sahco blends deli­cate organ­zas, hand-drawn motifs, and bold chro­mat­ics to evoke layered contrasts between soft and radical. Described as mining ​“the tension between past and present,” Thorne­fors reframes Sahco as both classic and unex­pected: fabrics that feel light yet sump­tu­ous, refined yet daring. Under his lead­er­ship, Sahco is redefin­ing what luxury textiles can be — immer­sive, chal­leng­ing, and emotionally resonant.
