Pebble Vase in Gold

The Pebble Vase was among Kate Hume’s earli­est glass designs, intro­duc­ing the rounded forms that would become a recur­ring element in her work. The shape is compact and slightly asym­met­ri­cal, with soft­ened edges that catch and diffuse light across the surface.

Each vase is mouth-blown and finished by hand, produc­ing subtle vari­a­tions in propor­tion and color from one piece to the next. The form rests low and stable, with a narrow opening suited to a small arrange­ment or a single stem.

This example is offered in medium scale in aubergine and gold, two of the deeper tones used through­out Hume’s glasswork.
